My Business Recommendations In Fruita, Colorado
None of these businesses have paid me or have compensated me in any way.
Aspen Street Coffee House - An excellent neighborhood coffee shop in the old bank building on the corner of E. Aspen Avenue and Mulberry Street. (One block east of the town circle) They also serve breakfast, panini sandwiches and daily bakery items. Free wi-fi. www.facebook.com/AspenStreetCoffee
Balanced Rock Motel - The expensive chain motels are on the south side of exit 19, but I recommend the Balanced Rock Motel on the north side. Their prices are the lowest I've seen -- cheaper than the overpriced Motel 6 at the Grand Junction Airport, too -- and you don't give up much. Quality rooms, nice beds and furnishings, flat screen TV's and everything is clean. In fact, I think the owners are obsessed with cleaning! Go there with confidence. www.balancedrockmotel.com
Huba's Automotive Garage - Huba (pronounced like the musical instrument "tuba") and his sons are longtime Fruita residents who are honest, caring and professional auto mechanics. Heaven forbid that you have car trouble, but if you do, I recommend Huba. He and his sons work out of their garage on 20 Road and are there for you if you need them. His phone number: (970) 361-8222.
Cairn Counseling by Steve Garufi, LPC - I know, this listing is biased, but if you are searching for a mental health therapist, I humbly offer you my care. My office is at 2350 G Road in northwest Grand Junction, a short drive from Fruita. I've been a therapist for 10+ years with experience with teens, relationships, grief, depression, matters of self-worth, men's issues and work/career matters. Hot Tomato Cafe - Locally owned with friendly employees and great vibes. Microbrews on tap. Excellent pizza. Other menu items such as calzones, salads and more. A delightful Colorado-ey ambiance. The business is cycling-friendly, too. www.hottomatocafe.com
